Hey Everyone!!
Gourav Barnwal here, Software Engineer at MoneyTap.

I am about to share my onboarding experiences at MoneyTap, a fintech, Credit Line company.

https://www.moneytap.com/

Starting from my summer, where pandemic started, and suddenly, we got terrified about job loss. Thank god to MoneyTap and Ankan to assure us of the offer.

I boarded MoneyTap on the 22nd of July just after a fortnight of my birthday. It’s my first ride to the startup world, which means I was an Alien to work, people and tech. Thanks to Trisha and Sandeep, they fed us with short meetings with everyone from the Operation team, marketing team, CEO, CBO, COO and Tech team.

I remember once I asked Trisha — how the company runs, why people work, Is that money, fear, pressure or something else?

I didn’t expect the answer will be on empathy, culture, bonding between employees and tact of pushing others to learn more and move together on top.

It’s so true since I joined that I try to work like my seniors. They are self-motivated and always envisioned working for the company and working as a team.
MoneyTap has taken care of freshers by assigning a buddy for each of us.
Buddy is like an Alexa( Sorry Ujjwal calling you Alexa), but you are the one who answered me about everything I asked, whether it’s about carrier advice, tech doubts, MoneyTap misfits.

Other than Alexa, We have easy access to all the top executives. Especially if we want to discuss something with any of the CxOs. Here, the working culture is Open Source-mentality where we can ping/call anyone and anytime :-).

Moving to my boarding and Tech team Mentor, I boarded with a brand new Laptop and many goodies. Our training cum Bootcamp started with hands-on:

  • Linux Scripting
  • SCM — Git
  • Java from basic to advance
  • SpringBoot (MVC, JPA, Caching, Security)
  • PostgreSQL

This Bootcamp was a roller-coaster ride for 20 days, where we learned in a significantly shorter period. Thanks a lot to my Mentor -

Pavan, Elango, Ganesh and Ajesh. They guided us throughout Bootcamp.

After this, I thought, there will be a grilling session where I will have a heavy workload on my head. But, MoneyTap had planned everything since our start, whether it’s about intro to tech thing, work distribution, Office culture, and intro-party at Bangalore. So far, everything is right and I am learning a lot.

I am hoping of being CTO soon, considering a vacancy at MoneyTap. Just Kidding; definitely, AGE will rost me for this.
Thank you, MoneyTap, for letting a fresher learn and work with such an experienced team.
